ChatGPT utilizes the latest deep learning model known as the Transformer which brought impressive improvement to the traditional RNN for language processing. In this course, we will introduce students to the fundamental concepts of artificial neural network (starting with perceptron) and machine learning. We will explore the different types of deep learning: supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning and the various models for deep learning leading to Transformer. With this foundational knowledge, students will learn how to be a prompt engineer using sophisticated prompting techniques such as one and multi-shot prompting and chain of thought prompting.
