Service Description

Games are not only fun, the visual and interactive nature of games make it a perfect medium for learning programming and computer science. Games allow students easily see what they are programming and help to make abstract concept intuitive. The objective of this "Introduction To Python With Games" series is to introduce students to game making from a computer science perspective. The curriculum focuses on the fundamentals of how to program games, thus exposes students to computer science and the python programming language in a fun and intuitive way. This course is project based. We will combine theory with practice. In addition to lecture, students will be working on game projects in class and as homework assignment, either individually or as a team. This is the first part in this 3 part series. We will focus on basic python syntax such as loops and conditional and basic data structures such as variables and list. Students will see how these basic features can be applied in the context of making games. Students will also be exposed to the concept of game level design.
